Has Anyone Had Multi Level Spinal Decompression And Fusion
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have 4 herniated discs in lumbar spine causing severe stenosis. I have arthritis DDD bone spurs enlarged ligamatum flavum. I went to neurosurgeon to get permanent spine stimulator put in. He reviewed my films and told me my back was too bad to get the stimulator. He said it would mask symptoms and I could get permanent damage. So I am scheduled for decompression and fusion L2 - S1 on May 31st. Was wondering if anyone has had this and any suggestions or tips you may have.

I had spinal decompression of vertebrae 3,4,5. It is surgery that lasts about 2 hrs and then 2 days in hospital. The next step is rehab for about 10 days. It worked so i could walk ok but plenty of pain at the incision site which is still there but much less pain. That was done in April 2013.

I have decompression and fusing in my neck/shoulders and decompression in my lumbar area and its a constant course of 24/7 pain that nothing can touch or lower. It is annoyimg and disabling and is one reason why i need at times to use a electric wheelchair.
