I was called on Monday being offered an appointment for Wednesday morning to have my impacted wisdom tooth removed. I requested to take Thursday off work and my boss wasn’t too happy with this due to the fact it was such short notice. I understand it totally for her point of view that she would be loosing money (i am a beauty therapist working in a salon and did have clients booked in). I'd wait until afternoon the day b/4 and see how I feel. Just because it's normal in 48 hrs. doesn't mean it will happen to you. If you have to you have to. It's life. What we "think" of it is usually worse then what it is. What do you do to relax your mind when it get's hyper like this? Hope it calms sooner then later. hugs,

Use Ice For Swelling. If There Are No Complications You Can Work Being Swollen.. Just Explain What You Had Done...
