Members shared a range of topical pain relievers they have tried as alternatives to pain pills, with Voltaren (a prescription topical) emerging as one of the most frequently mentioned and effective options, along with CBD oil, Stopain roll-on, Biofreeze, and Traumeel (or Traumacare in Canada). Several members emphasized that while topicals can provide meaningful relief (one member estimated around 60% pain reduction when combining CBD oil with Stopain), they generally work best as part of a broader pain management strategy rather than complete replacements for medication. A recurring theme was the importance of caution when trying new topicals, as some members experienced severe allergic reactions or intense burning sensations, and the reminder that finding the right combination of treatments often requires patience and trial and error.

PS. Ive also tried a medical marijuana topical too. It did nothing for me at all. It was very expensive and a let down for me as i have and still use other MM products like cbd oil in vape form for calming down breakthru pain.

I use cbd oil and also stop pain. Together, they help by about 60% i would say. Nothing helps all of the pain, not even pain meds.

I just use the 1000mg oil topically. Occasionally, i will use a dropper full orally at night if the pain is making it hard to sleep.

What kind of pain do you have? I use a topical ointment called- MELOX/GABA/LIDOCAIN/PRILOCAINE (29ALI). It is prepared by a company called "Transdermal Theraputics" in Homewood Alabama. It was prepared per my Physiatrist to help with Peripheral Neuropathy. I use it mostly when the burning, pins & needle feelings are high, usually caused (for me) after prolong periods of rest. Stinks right! You rest from one pain allowing another to kick in! Hope this is helpful. Bob in CT.
