Has Anyone Received Pain Relief From Taking Psychiatric Medication?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I've been on the psychiatric medication Abilify for a month now and I have noticed that I've haven't had this pain in my neck like I had before
I was wondering if anyone else had success with pain relief from using any type of mental health medication
I read online from the few other blog sites that some people have had success with pain management by taking small doses of Abilify.
I'm still not a hundred percent pain-free but I can definitely tell there has been an improvement.

Wow that would certainly be a benefit. I take Zoloft for depression due to chronic pain and was told its helps with the pain but I can't say I have noticed a difference in that area. Plus Zoloft is a weight gain med for me.....uugggggg
Gained back 30 lbs I lost from a severe bout of depression last year.

So thankful we have one another. πŸ™

Yes! Yes! Anything that helps Anxiety or Depression will help your pain! When you're anxious you automatically tighten up. Then your muscles spasm, especially around the neck.

So glad you have found relief for your pain. Seems the neck/shoulder area is where stress can cause terrible issues.

Hugs, Cecilia

Oh I completely agree about this time of year...I always really feel worse and it really takes a lot more effort to get the negative cloud lifted from over my head.
I may ask about the ability as well.
The support here and on the facebook groups is amazing....so thankful to have everyone share this journey - if we must live it at least we have each other. 😘
