I have a low dose of morphine that is a 12 hr pill, to have a lesser variation of the effects of my other meds the ends and starts with the ups and downs that i had was so intense i could barely think straight, but i was taking pretty big amounts of opioids, and other pain killers along with muscle relaxants, and smoking weed from morning to night. I dont even know how i functioned , but i did. I eventually started to have a better control , using different things i have picked up and practiced using breathing and autohypnosis and visualisation, the only part i can do nothing , is my lower back . For now, but i was warned against removing that one, as i would do things to injure me more over time. I cant anyway for now for some reason. So i have started searvhing my past to see what gives. That is slow . But i slowly took my self off of most of my meds, bringing myself down to min now, but i keep my meds for the frequent flares i have . But to answer your question , i have reduced my medication over the years. From 15 pills x 2 -3 times a day to 4 pills 2x a day, with once in a while i take an opioid at 5 oclock depending on amount of pain. When my epidural wears off , this becomes everyday. But all in all i have gone down from 20mg to 10 and from 6 pills a day to 2-4 and 4 is really bad days, but i had lost a few of my tools when i had the mass on my lung that almost killed me. Is good to know now that it is not lost , but forgotten it seems, as parts have come back. I can rebuild from what has come back, so am not worried.before the screw ups and stuff , i had suceeded in stopping opioids for 3 1/2months. I dont know if i can get back there , but i will try.

They were saying when you go off pain pills your body will adjust in about a week or two. I was on morphine for two years and went off cold turkey. In two weeks my body calmed down and I felt great You could feel the anxiety leaving your body. Doctor said if you take as prescribed
There is no problem unless you get side effects. It is all guess work as far as I can see. All you can do is try. If you could get into pain clinics faster they might find the right meds. All I can say is listen to your body You will know what you can do or not do. Don’t listen to critics because they get under your skin I say play hard as you can and try to enjoy life to the end

Yes. Unfortunately, opiates are like that. The longer youre on them, the less effective they become. My doctor wont move me up, though cuz of the potential for addiction, and, at a certain point, they become lethal. Plus, the CDC changed protocols to lower dosing because of the problem with abuse. It upsets me though, because how do they know how much meds it takes to alleviate my pain?!Anyway, thats the long and short of it.

I’ve tried different meds I stick to the ones that work. As time goes I wean off a bit. Everything has to be slowly. I don’t know if things change in the body or not I find I don’t need as much as time goes by Hopefully all meds would stop but I doubt it All we can do is work along with pain doctor
