Did You Know??
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Came across this and figured I would share
These are called "Bay leaves"
Many people add bay leaves to foods especially jollof rice (Nigerian), red meat and poultry but do you know why bay leaves are added to food?
When asked why, some reply: to add flavor to the food👐

Do you know that If you boil some bay leaves in a glass of water and taste it, it will have no flavor?
Now why do you put bay leaves in the meat?

The addition of bay leaves to meat converts triglycerides to monounsaturated… read more

These are all good use of spices and have friends from India and they use so many different spices. Some hot and some not. I get food that has no hot or spicy spices. They try to tell me what helps and why.

Just a little advice that my therapist gave me about turmeric... use sparingly at first. 1/8 tsp. After a week double it, by a month maybe 1/2 a tsp. If you increase it too fast or start with too high of an ur bowels may run...she and I started talking about smoothies made with non dairy milk and turmeric this past summer for arthritis.
Can’t wait to tell her about Golden milk! She gets colds very easily!

Blessings

Though I've no doubt Bay Leaves have benefit, my daughter the scientist and doctor (animal, vet) assures me some of your info is incorrect. More than I understand. I usually pass things on to her for any concerns she may have. She was immediately cautious because your experiment has no scientific basis in the conversion of fat. I sent her as much as my phone would copy and paste. Michael I'm not saying your conclusions are completely wrong, just your lead in with your chicken test. The leaves have no danger to injest in any way. So use is only an issue of allergies which I'd think would be highly unlikely. Not concrete though. I myself have had serious reactions to curry. To the point it nearly stopped my breathing before we discovered it. Allergies are the strangest of all.
Have a great night Michael!
