Members reflected deeply on what pain has taught them, with many sharing that it revealed unexpected inner strength, forced them to accept limitations while still pushing forward on good days, and fundamentally changed their perspective on what truly matters in life. Several members described practical lessons learned through years of chronic pain, including the importance of pacing activities to avoid flare-ups, relying on faith or mindfulness to get through unbearable days, and recognizing that a pain level of 6 can feel like a victory worth celebrating. A recurring theme was transformation through suffering, with members expressing how pain cultivated compassion, gratitude, self-awareness, and a determination to embrace life fully despite its challenges, rather than mourning the life they once imagined.

I learned it is all relative. It is sometimes unbearable but you have to push through and do your best everyday. Accept your limitations but try to go beyond them
