You body is under stress, it will produce cortisol from your adrenal glands which is a fight and flight response. It will make it hard to sleep. There is an herb called kava and one called Valeriean at your health food store that will help with that.

Chamomile Tea may help with over the counter, melatonin, or L-tryptophan.

Sorry this has been your pattern for so many years. What does your doctor say ? Pray there is something that helps you get more sleep💕

I have struggled with pain/anxiety-related insomnia for years. This is going to sound weird, but during the Christmas season, I stumbled onto one of those "fake fireplace" things on YouTube that makes your TV screen look like a well...fireplace. I was more surprised that it opens with a title screen that refers to it as a "Lullaby." Anyway, I let it play, and there was soft, acoustic guitar playing familiar Christmas Songs. I turned the volume way down, and I slept better than I had in many years. I've used it every night since. If you have a voice remote, just say "Yuletide," and it's there, and plays for 8 hours. I know, it's weird, but I've slept better for it. I was ready to try absolutely anything.
