Members connected over the original question about chronic sleep deprivation, with many sharing that they too struggle to sleep more than four hours a night despite trying every available solution. Several members described their own combinations of sleep aids, including prescription medications like amitriptyline, trazodone, and clonazepam, natural supplements like magnesium and melatonin, and practical strategies like sleep hygiene routines, nature sounds, cooling the bedroom, and even using YouTube fireplace videos with acoustic guitar music. A recurring theme was the exhausting intersection of chronic pain, fibromyalgia, stress-induced cortisol, and the side effects of both prescription sleep medications and the opioid crisis, which has left many feeling unsupported by their doctors and searching desperately for anything that might help them finally rest.

You body is under stress, it will produce cortisol from your adrenal glands which is a fight and flight response. It will make it hard to sleep. There is an herb called kava and one called Valeriean at your health food store that will help with that.
