Leg And Hip Butt Pain
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My hip, butt and leg have been hurting now for three years. Have had 3 epidural and don't want another. Just want something that will.make me feel normal again. Doctor have recommend that I have a fourth epidural. It doesn't appeal to me. So now I just want some ointment and pain pillows. So other then this what is out there beside surgery?

I've had this done several times. Sorry but I got no relief. So tired of hurting and can't seem to get drs to understand something needs to give.i have great ins so that's not a issue. I don't want to wish bad on anyone but sure wish they could live in this body for a little bit. Quiet sure changes would be sure treatment would change.

If your hip, leg and butt pain is causing you constant pain ...have you had an X-Ray of you hip? Maybe you need a hip replacement. I have two friends who did very well after their surgeries. An orthopedic doc may be your next step. Good luck!

I have been in hip and back pain before I had fusions!! Now the nerve damage from the surgery is worse!! I am not getting any more shots!! I broke my Norco I half to make them last!! Doctors can't write prescriptions without you signing a contract that you won't get any more from other doctors!! Between this coronavirus and opiod epidemic, what are we supposed to do???

Well I ended up back here 2 years later... in that time I have had a laminectomy and decompression at L2-L4, and had my spinal cord stimulator removed because the leadss were not scared in place. The stimulator was put in 19 years ago, and never scared over... the very reason nobody eanted to do surgery on me in yhe first place! My surgery was done by a neurosurgeon, not an orthopedic surgeon. I am now going to have a disc replacement and fusion at L5-S1 when the ORs open back uo to elective surgery. I have to quit smoking this time, as healing is impared by nicotine. I know yhat there are days that I sit and smoke because I think that I can get sime pain relief from it... when actually I am doing more harm than good.
What have tbey done for you in the last two years?
