A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I've had chronic pelvic pain for going on 20 years now, and it is fairly well controlled (with the usual problems) with pain medication. But my pain management doctor keeps pressuring me to see a spinal pain specialist to inquire about her doing a nerve ablation (nerve-killing) procedure for the pain. I feel very iffy about this. I've heard that the pain will resume in 6 months even with the procedure, and that I would need to have this done every six months anyhow, and there could be all kinds… read more

Josh , I am waiting to have my second ablation, The first one lasted about 7 months let me tell you when I walked out of the hospital after the first one I had no pain after about two months I was lifting stuff no pain, right when the government shut every thing down it wore off or the nerves grew back, I am counting the minutes for it being done again. I whole heartily say yes to an ablation, good luck.

Hi Josh good to hear you found a fragile balance with the pain. I have pudendal neuralgie and can t sit only on my knees on a yoga bench with a swimming board on it with a hole carved in it ( we had contact earlyer before on this site) . I had twice a nerve ablation ( if you mean a injection in the nerve ) ones it didn t work at all , and ones my but was paralised for 10 minutes i didnt felt for a short amouth of time the pain but it came back . I had no complication I heart there is a slightly change your urine flow can run after the ablation. You can look on pudendalhope site for more experiences with ablations .

Succes for making a choice kind regards from Holland

I've has several ablations, for different pain issues. They have always worked but have to be redone at some frequency. I never had any complications.
