Has anyone tried to get a psychiatric reevaluation on the basis of chronic pain symptoms potentially masquerading as a psychiatric disorder?
- Granted, not all Bipolar symptoms can potentially be explained in terms of chronic pain, but from what I am seeing and reading, a lot of it do overlap and interact/aggravate each other. Have a Neuropsychologist evaluate you. Try not to explain everything as you will get pre-judged
My therapist actually told me about a mood disorder related to known medical conditions. Mine presented as bipolar 2 & was treated with many ineffective meds for MANY years before we knew I didn't have bipolar!
So, to update on my question, I went for a follow up after a two week trial on new medication. My GP seem to agree that it could be a possibility. She suggested I wait a couple of months to make sure the medication has absorbed properly and I am stable on it, and then go see my psychiatrist.
