Due to other comorbid conditions I am unable to take OTC pain "relievers"but they never really worked for me anyway. I see a wonderful pain mgmt practice, but I also find that if I eat "cleanly", drink a good amount of water, and get outside and walk, I do MUCH BETTER than with the opioids alone!
HAPPY XMAS LORRAINE dear friend xxxx
Personally I have found that if I regularly get outdoors and walk about 3 to 4 kilometres most days in the fresh air and sunny weather here at Maroochdore the good endorphins are helping me to feel better 😘 and my pain levels are lower too as I only take Panadol Osteo for osteo arthritis; osteoporosis and scoliosis pain. I take 1000iu Vitamin D3 daily and Magnesium daily

Medications work differently for different people
That is a big question. It depends on how far you want to go. Do you want to just to do over the counter or do you want to have a pain doctor involved? So, if you go over the counter ask people what they thin think helps them. If you want to go through pain management. The doctor will ask you how bad your pain level is and where does it hurt the worst. And he might start you on some low-level pain and see how that works and the increase if it does not work.
We all had to start somewhere so its up to you to decide where and how bad your pain is and go from there. Good luck. And let us know.
