Members rallied around someone struggling to get back on their feet after a fall, with many emphasizing the importance of purposeful practice and physical therapy to maintain the strength and balance needed for independence. Several members shared practical strategies, including daily "get up" exercises (starting from a bed or chair if needed), using arm rails and support cushions, holding onto stable surfaces for balance, and working with a physical therapist to rebuild core muscles safely. A recurring theme was the shared vulnerability of falls and balance issues within the community, met with warm encouragement to start small, use available supports without shame, and never let fear of falling completely limit one's activities or independence.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member hello to you from Maroochdore on the Pacific Ocean East Coast of Queensland on Saturday morning here today. I am sorry I missed replying to your message about your walk beside the sea recently and I hope to have a walk beside the Ocean today or on Sunday afternoon provided it isn’t raining here.

From the floor, or from a sitting position?
My mother has exercises she does every day that she calls get ups. She deliberately, repeatedly gets on the floor and up again to maintain the muscles she needs to be able to get up. You might need to start these with a physical therapist.
If it's from a chair, you can get arm rails and cushions that will make getting up easier.
Definitely suggest looking into the exercises, though!
