Has Anyone Transitioned To A Remote Or Less Physically Demanding Job Due To Chronic Pain? Any Tips?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone, just curious - has anyone here transitioned to a remote job or a job that's easier on your body due to your chronic pain? If so, what has your experience been like? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I work from home and absolutely love it. Here are some tips/advice about WFH:
1. You have to be very responsible and dependable.
2. You have to be highly organized.
3. You MUST have a daily routine.
4. You have to be accountable to someone.
5. If you need accommodations, ask for them.
6. Remember that this is a REAL job, even if others don't think so.
7. You have to have reliable, high-speed Internet and a cell phone that takes and accepts photos. (Hopefully the job will supply the laptop! If not, you must keep verrrrry detailed records and keep them separate from your personal records on your own laptop, which has to be reliable, have a lot of storage space left on it, and you'll need a work email).
8. Communication is an art: learn it well and prioritize it.
9. Be thankful that you don't have to fight traffic like so many others! LOL

Some days I look on indeed to find more remote jobs due to my chronic pain. It is hard to get up every day and go to a job. I can still do that now since I am young. But I would like to know if any of you have found some success with that please comment if you have thank you have a blessed day.

My hips started hurting in my early 40's & I needed both hips replaced by the time I was in my late 50's. I had to switch to a work at home sitting job. Then being sedentary & the stress of the job caused obesity, anxiety & PTSD. I was a collections agent. I still have chronic pain due to all the spine issues I have & spine surgeries. I was told that the neck & spine issues were caused from too many childhood trauma's to the spine. Some of the trauma were caused from physical abuse, and some caused from extreme sports.
