I have fibromyalgia along with other conditions all causing chronic pain. I’m on a high dose of Gabapentin daily which I feel works well for the severity of it all but doesn’t seem to do anything for muscle weakness or stiffness and my PCP wants me to start taking duloxetin. I’m afraid of taking more meds though, especially when the long term effects of duloxetine are unknown. Is it worth it?

I never ruminated this badly before I had chronic pain. I wonder if it is the brain’s way of ignoring the pain by focusing on something else… Just a guess.

Interesting…. I find I ruminate more about things since getting fibromyalgia. I wonder if there’s a correlation

I have been taking duloxetin since 2009 with very few side effects. It gets rid of my rumination problem. I ruminate over everything when I am not taking it, and over nothing when I do take it. It has been very good for me. Just my opinion. Good luck!
