WebMd recommends Epsom salts baths for arthritis. Does anybody do this? It's a very old remedy for swelling problems.

Members enthusiastically responded to the question about Epsom salt baths for arthritis, with the overwhelming consensus being that they genuinely help with pain, swelling, and stiff muscles. Several members shared personal routines like soaking feet in a warm bucket with Epsom salts, using a foot spa, or taking full baths, and one member noted that topical magnesium lotion is a good alternative for those without a tub. A recurring theme was that while Epsom salts are not a cure, they offer real, affordable relief and are a simple comfort many members rely on regularly.

Warm bath soaking in epson salts as hot as you can stand, or I use a bucket filled with 1 1/2 cups of epson salts and soak my feet since we got rid of the bathtub and replaced with a shower. A hot shower is another temp relief and none of these are magic cures.

Hello, I've found Epsom salts baths very helpful. There are days I cannot really get going till I've done this. It helps relax muscles, which (in my case) reduces nerve pain. Last Point, it is inexpensive.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member hello it definitely does help with arthritis pain and also helps with swelling of ankles from other serious health conditions and I have soaked my feet in a bucket of warm water and Epsom Salt to get the swelling down

But the best test results were a lady on the over 50s village where I worked who was crippled with Arthritis and she had a spa bath installed on her back patio and she soaked in Epsom salt water every day for about 3 months and she was able to walk around again !
