I can understand what you mean about family and they definitely don't understand what I am going through 😔. Maybe both our families will soon be more considerate of our pain.
People, even our own family cannot feel what we feel. And as much as my family tries to understand they still fall short. And at times I let that aggravate me. But then I have to ask myself if the situation was reversed, and I was busy going to work going to my Bible study. Doing all the things that I do. Would I be more sympathetic than what my family is? So basically, would I understand more than they understand right now? I would like to think that I would, but if I've never experienced chronic pain before, then, I don't think I would. Would understand it any more than what my family understands it. Could they be more sympathetic to my needs? My fatigue, my pain, my, I'm sorry, baby. I just can't do that right now. I'm hurting and I'm exhausted kind of days. Yeah, I think they could be more sympathetic to it, but they're not. The only thing I do is I just keep telling them I keep telling them keep showing them how I hurt. And the only way I know to show them is by when I'm not doing anything, but I really don't honestly know. If that makes a difference or not.
How can you help others understand the invisible nature of chronic pain?
Living with chronic pain often means dealing with symptoms that others can't see. The reality beneath the surface includes missed appointments, days in bed, and fluctuating abilities that can be confusing for others to understand.
