Spinal steroid injections

Spinal steroid injections

I have been assessed at the pain clinic as a candidate for spinal steroid injections every six months. I have severe spinal stenosis on several levels in my lumbar spine.

Has anyone had these injections, and if yes, what are some of the side affects and also what are the positives?....I'm seeking a balanced picture.

Any information will be extremely appreciated!

Osteoarthritis pain and back pain due to degenerative disk disease

Osteoarthritis pain and back pain due to degenerative disk disease

I have never been on pain meds or any anti inflammatory meds. I've had early onset of arthritis basically everywhere in my body. I'm 38 but I've had arthritis since I was a teenage. My back is shot. In the last couple of years my liver has been enlarging and my kidneys aren't in tip top shape. I have GI Bleeding as well. My body hurts every single day and I just continue to push forward. However it's taking it's toll on me. I need to find… read more

Why is it that drs still charge our insurance to only refuse to aid our pain? I don't think that's right.

Why is it that drs still charge our insurance to only refuse to aid our pain? I don't think that's right.

We all pay for services.
If we pay our providers we should get what is paid for.
What is included with a paid Dr visit?
Anybody question that?
It's time WE question what is given in exchange for the paid visit.

Suggestion for extra meds at night-time for back pain

Suggestion for extra meds at night-time for back pain

I am currently taking Cymbalta and Gabapentin for Fibromyalgia, plus Zapain and Ibruprufen on top when needed as i also have DDD, inflammation of the facet joints and a torn ligament in my lower back. My back is worse at night which makes my already bad sleep pattern worse. I am wondering if anyone can suggest an extra pain-killer that i can take just at night-time?
I have tried Tramadol and i does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have had a pain block injection in my ackilies tendon. Has anyone else had it? This is my second night without sleep Thank you all

I have a thickening of my Ackilies tendon. After several things were tried in my right foot I had three "craving" down operations they have up as there was too much scare tissue to do more.
Now the left leg has begin to do the same thing. This ;pain block".is the first thing they have tried. I had an anesthetic injection followed immediately by this pain block injection which was put… read more

Swollen Foot...

I have been fighting various symptoms in my left leg for over 2 years. First it was muscle spasms in left thigh which became one giant charley horse. Then came lightening bolts in knee and an electric drill in calf. Entire leg, including foot, now feels tight with pins & needles sensation. A week ago I woke to my left foot being badly swollen.

Three months after surgery at L2/3 last year, I was told that level needed a fusion. L3/4 had been fused in 2015. L4/5 has been operated… read more

Anyone else heard of their pain called central sensitization?

Anyone else heard of their pain called central sensitization?

So I had my appointment with the pain clinic yesterday and after going through all the questions on the form and talking with the doctor, he told me I deal with central sensitization and unfortunately there's nothing that will help me. Injections into the various areas where I deal with pain would only enhance the pain that I am already in which is not what he wants me to feel. So here's my question then? Anyone else deal with this type of pain and… read more
