I have been assessed at the pain clinic as a candidate for spinal steroid injections every six months. I have severe spinal stenosis on several levels in my lumbar spine.
Has anyone had these injections, and if yes, what are some of the side affects and also what are the positives?....I'm seeking a balanced picture.

My pain doc wants me to try a nerve block on my back. I'm willing to try anything at this point. If you've had it done, is it painful? Does it hurt? I have DDD, stenosis,and L-4 and L-5 are herniated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more
Because I have always had Sedation.
However my pain doctor is having a hard time getting the Medications for the Sedation.
Do not get injections. They will make it worse. They've been banned in Europe for a reason. All the injections do his pay off your doc's student loans.
I'm looking for anyone's experience dealing with SI joint pain. I've had problems with my SI joints for years and I've injections & radiofrequency ablations done. At this point nothing is helping. I've had 2 lumbar fusions so I'm sure there's more stress being putting on the SI joints. Has anyone had cortisone shots for hip pain? I just started seeing a new pain Dr. He did x-rays of my hips but they look good. I have extreme pain in my lower back, right hip & knee. I have Osteoarthritis in my knees & was on Opioids for a few months
