It shuts up the part of your brain that's being overstimulated with pain messages - it doesn't fix what's wrong or take the pain away, just makes the pain messages a bit quieter for a while.....

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of/had Success With LDN For Treating Pain?

Has Anyone Ever Heard Of/had Success With LDN For Treating Pain?

I’m curious to know has anyone tried this treatment and if so, how have they found it for treating chronic pain.
I know every one is different, but I’m trying to find out what ever I can about it and if people have had positive or negative results with it.
Thank you all xxx

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Or Low Dose Dextromethorphan For Fibromyalgia

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) Or Low Dose Dextromethorphan For Fibromyalgia

Does anyone have experience with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) or Low Dose Dextromethorphan for Fibromyalgia?

I recently came across a book on my shelf, from 2016, on LDN. I cannot remember reading it but probably did if it is on the shelf. I would have brought it up with my PCP back then and he probably dismissed it.

I have also seen several YouTube videos on the topic but not very recent.

Anyone Else Heard Of Their Pain Called Central Sensitization?

Anyone Else Heard Of Their Pain Called Central Sensitization?

So I had my appointment with the pain clinic yesterday and after going through all the questions on the form and talking with the doctor, he told me I deal with central sensitization and unfortunately there's nothing that will help me. Injections into the various areas where I deal with pain would only enhance the pain that I am already in which is not what he wants me to feel. So here's my question then? Anyone else deal with this type of pain and what do you do when all medications, short of… read more

Allergic To Steroids????

Allergic To Steroids????

What do you do if you are allergic to steroids? The last time I had a steroid shot, I turned all red and got very itchy. I tried to take prednisone and it made it worse. Since then, I cannot take any steroids at all. Some of my doctors can't believe I'm allergic, but I get this reaction every time I try to use them. I even had a reaction to an asthma inhaler that had a steroid in it. HELP??? What do I do for my back pain, my bursitis, etc.

Does Anyone Else Suffer Weight Issues Due To Medication?

Does Anyone Else Suffer Weight Issues Due To Medication?

Hi, I have been on Lyrica for about 6 months and have put on about 12 kgs. The problem is it is mostly around my middle section and added to the chronic pain it is getting me down. Has anyone else experienced weight gain while on Lyrica and how do you combat it. Really need to be able to lose some of this weight as the extra kgs are making my back pain worse.

Neurontin: D Like T

Neurontin: D Like T

Is it wise to taper off of gabapentin slowly? My prescription is far above the studied dosage, and have experienced some confused thought process...i.e.) losing words, short term memory loss. I've been on it for several years, but my condition has worsened and is better controlled with another med.
