Has Anyone Taken Gabapentin For Neuropathy Pain And Found It Helped?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had a follow up with my oncologist on Monday and she prescribed Gabapentin for my neuropathy pain in hands and feet. Just curious if anyone has found this medication helpful...

AuntBob, thanks you for saying that about us being able to sound off and not suffer in silence. I had just read a post where someone was saying that posting how bad we feel and complaining about our pain, said that we were bringing everyone else down. I feel like we're in this together and that's why we're here. I complain but I also try to offer support if I can.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member..hi, Yeah I think I read the same post you did. Something about bringing her down with negativity, and this site doesn't like the people that complain?? I was a bit confused too. She must be in a bubble world to not notice the support that this site gjves, and how everyone vents at least on bad days. I was thinking that this person was on the wrong site maybe?? haha. You can always vent to me. Contact me anytime. We'll vent together. haha

I have a very different condition but I just wanted to say be careful on Gabapentine and Lyrica. Gaba made me have 4 seizures in a row and never really did much for my pain after 2 weeks. I was made to stay on it for a couple of years until the seizures. Lyrica made it hard to focus and made me vomit. I can almost guarantee u wont have the problems i had with gaba. we all get effected differently. I'm just letting u know my experience and just be careful. "if u dont like how it makes u feel from the start try something else" is what i learned from my experience with all the different drugs over the years. hope it helps and good luck.

I take 900 mg 3x daily. I find the higher dose is helping to manage my neuropathy better.
