Members shared overwhelmingly positive experiences with dental implants, with most reporting minimal pain during or after the procedure and encouraging someone with chronic pain concerns to move forward with the treatment. Several members offered practical guidance, including discussing medication interactions with the dentist, confirming jawbone strength before proceeding, exploring insurance coverage options (especially if drymouth from medications caused tooth loss), and asking about sedation options to reduce anxiety and discomfort. A recurring theme was the importance of getting implants sooner rather than later to prevent remaining teeth from drifting, protect facial structure, and restore proper chewing function, with members emphasizing that while some experienced complications like loose implants from bone loss or dry sockets after extractions, the long-term benefits far outweighed initial concerns.

I have two dental implants. Before I had brain surgery doctor had me on a medication for seizures that caused my gums to recede and I lost some teeth. I felt no pain during the procedure or after. Dentist will check to see if your jaw bones are strong enough to hold them. Do you know if your pain comes from your spinal or brain nerves? What does doc say?
