Members shared mixed perspectives on steroid infusions for inflamed scar tissue, with opinions ranging from skepticism about medical motives to personal experiences with both benefits and serious complications. Several members recounted their own journeys with steroid injections, including one who experienced painful vascular necrosis affecting all joints after numerous treatments, another who found temporary relief before requiring spinal fusions, and others who questioned whether insurance requirements or financial interests drive treatment recommendations. A recurring theme was the importance of researching treatments independently, seeking second opinions, and weighing potential side effects against possible benefits when making personal healthcare decisions.

If I had 100 steroid injections in my spine, it’s probably 200. I did steroid injections and they worked until the pain became too much. That’s when I had the spinal fusions. Until those no longer worked.
