I'm generally interested because people are starting to call me one. ☹️

All opioid prescriptions are put in an AI algorithm called NarxCare. We are ALL given an addiction rating number. Our taxes are paying 100s of millions of dollars to private companies to run these algorithms and they have gone outside the lines to collect data.
One poor women got cut OFF her meds because her two dogs were prescribed pain meds.

CALL OR WRITE YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE! At least vote these right-wing ant-government out of office!

You can look up your addition number on NarxCare.com.

That makes me absolutely livid! My pain doctor says I may be dependent on my painkillers, but I am definitely not addicted. An addict lies to get drugs, maybe steals or pays vast amounts of money to get a “high”. He says you take these meds because without them your life would be miserable at best. You tell whoever that ***** person is to put that in their pipe and smoke it!!

It us not the number of scripts. Who called you one ? It is easy for others to have opinions when they dont have any idea what you are going through. They used to give you ideas on how to ask a doc for pain meds, now it seems like it doesn't matter. The last thing you need is someone with negative comments. Just say something like "walk a mile in my shoes,", how can you tell from the outside? Anything to make them realize they dont know what they are talking about. Is this a family member? Close friend? How do they know how many you take?
It is hard to ignore them but. You have to worry about yourself, and your quality of life.

Eleni,
Don't listen to them! Do you take your meds as directed? Then tell them to pound sand. You take care of you and let the others be jealous of you for it.

Eleni that is the worst BS I have ever heard. Sounds like a direct violation of their oath. Not to mention ethics, patients relations. If you did record it, I would contact a lawyer.
Doctors act like everyone is an addict now but mostly because they are worried about themselves. For over a month all I got were scripts that caused me lots of problems, including almost passing out in a store. Then all he gave me was tylenol 3. Pretty lame but better than nothing when you have to go to PT.
Foot doc gave me percocet following surgery. I know why now. The stuff they used on my foot lasted all day, then BAM. I couldnt walk.
Pain changes us. It changes the way we react. When we are in extreme pain the ONLY thing we can think about is making it stop!
You know your body. You know what you can tolerate.
I got kicked off everything. I figured it was a good time to finally look into natural options. It was tough, due to circumstances, but I did it. Then this idiot decides to drive when he does not even know he is driving, and plows right into me,
and I am back where I was. Back to cant do anything. Cant walk my dog or take her to parks. Cant even Clean the house. Tried going to grocery store, did not go well. Limited options for delivery and cost close to cost of food.
It is all connected. It is basically a fight every day to keep going. Whether it seems like it or not, there are little victories. What we dont need is anyone making it harder. You have to distance yourself from anyone who causes you to feel bad, be angry, doubt yourself or think there is something wrong with you. You have a condition, ailment, medical impairment (whatever label someone wants to give it) but it is not YOU. It is happening To You.
It is a very good idea to vent, discuss, chat with others on here. Never a good idea to keep it bottled up.
