Yes, I have chronic heartburn because of stomach ulcers. Have to take my medication every day or else the heartburn gets worse.

Has anyone else experienced severe indigestion that felt like a heart attack?

That sounds absolutely terrifying, and it's completely understandable that you were scared. Severe indigestion can indeed mimic heart attack symptoms, which makes it especially frightening.

While the search results don't specifically mention indigestion experiences, many MyChronicPainTeam members share stories about sudden, intense pain episodes that send them to the emergency room. Living with chronic pain often means experiencing unexpected symptoms that can be alarming.

If you haven't already, please:
- Contact your doctor or seek immediate medical attention if you're still experiencing symptoms
- Get evaluated to rule out any cardiac issues, especially if this is the first time you've experienced this
- Keep track of what you ate or any triggers that might have caused the severe indigestion

It's always better to err on the side of caution with chest pain. Once serious causes are ruled out, your doctor can help you manage severe indigestion and determine if it's related to your chronic pain condition or medications you might be taking.

You're not alone in experiencing scary symptoms that catch you off guard.

That can feel really scary, and many people with chronic pain or inflammatory conditions do experience severe indigestion that can mimic heart-related symptoms. Still, it’s important not to ignore it since chest discomfort should always be taken seriously. Sometimes medications like NSAIDs or stress can also trigger such episodes. If it happens again or feels intense, getting it checked promptly is the safest step.

You’re definitely not alone in experiencing this. Communities like Antardhwani also talk about similar experiences, so it can help to connect and learn from others.
