Members connected over the shared struggle of managing sleep with chronic pain, with many describing irregular patterns including marathon sleep sessions lasting days, frequent nighttime waking, and the frustrating cycle of exhaustion followed by an inability to rest. Several members shared practical attempts to improve sleep, including trying melatonin supplements, cognitive behavioral therapy exercises, keeping rooms cool, and sleeping under duvets, though many acknowledged that severe pain often makes it impossible to get comfortable no matter what strategies they try. A recurring theme was the understanding that bodies sometimes demand extended rest after periods of high activity or pain, and the importance of giving yourself grace when sleep becomes unpredictable.

Sleep is so important. Then Deb sleeps sitting up, blows me away. I talk to her before I realize she is "not there".
I love sleeping under a duvet in a cool room. Some days I can not get comfortable enough to sleep if the pain levels are just too high. Currently climbing the stairs has occasionally kicked up the pain levels so much I can not sleep. So the act of going to bed can cause the process to mess up. Hard to win.

Before the New Years comes I got real wild and bought a pack of Clove Cigarettes. I use to love them decades ago. Damn they are strong. But leave such a good taste. Bad I know. I am ready for our challenge. Been doing CBT exercises geared towards quitting. Figure it can’t hurt. Love ya GF
