Why Do I Only Get The Energy When I Have A Deadline, Especially In School?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I was getting my master's degree, I had a paper that was turned in at 11:57 PM, so every other paper was done in several rough drafts, taken to the Writing Center, and even taken to the professors when I needed a dollar to go buy a clue. However, now that I'm even older, and should know better, gosh, I can't get the energy unless a due date is rushing up at me. Right now, I even have late library books for the dang assignment. Did I even open them to see if they are the correct books? Yes… read more

Has Anyone Hac A Nerve Block Done For Back Pain?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My pain doc wants me to try a nerve block on my back. I'm willing to try anything at this point. If you've had it done, is it painful? Does it hurt? I have DDD, stenosis, and L-4 and L-5 are herniated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more

To Those Living With A Chronic Pain Survivor
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know living with someone who is in constant pain can be hard. Sometimes we take it out on the person we love, because we can’t fix ourselves and it is so exhausting. We are staring down a monster who can actually change in the matter of a minute. It’s unfair of us to do this, especially to the ones who love us and are there for us. There are no excuses. There aren’t any words that can describe the extent of how it hurts. The mind games it plays. I am a chronic pain survivor myself. I am also… read more

Is DEA Going To Crack Down On Those Who Take Pain Meds For Real Pain More Than What They Have Done Already?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband told me that Pres. Trump said he’d like to do away with half of all pain meds use! I’ve been on pain meds off and on from 21 to mid 30’s since I had received approx. 20+ surgeries in that time. Then 20 years ago ruptured L-4 and L-5, L-5 S-1. Pain was unbearable . I’ve been on them straight since then , Oct 21st at 1:10 pm ,1997. You don’t forget the date that changed your life. I’ve been treated like a drug seeker all my life on meds. Once and awhile you’ll find a dr who knows pain… read more
