Have never had them...but Dr wants to start treatment.
Like so many here, I have to agree. I avoid them sticking any needles into my neck, back or anything related as I have never had a good experience with them.. I have a very high threshold to standing… read more
I have been assessed at the pain clinic as a candidate for spinal steroid injections every six months. I have severe spinal stenosis on several levels in my lumbar spine.
Has anyone had these injections, and if yes, what are some of the side affects and also what are the positives?....I'm seeking a balanced picture.
Any information will be extremely appreciated!
I have had several shots and they worked. I was in such pain it was my last treatment and it worked. These shots may not work for everyone. I even had an epidural for my neck and that so far is… read more
I have spinal stenosis and my pain doctor wants to give me a steroid shot to see if that helps with the pain. I've heard to many horror stories and I'm just not too sure about having a needle stuck in my back. Thoughts?
Dear Judylee, I was never given anything to put me out even partially. They want you alert. Lidocaine sight only
Was given in a surgical room. X-ray machine used to see where injection placed. Easy… read more
what options are there if allergic to steroids. Dr wants me to do steroid shots, but almost died when they used steroids.
What can you do for a tailbone that has arthritis? I've got cortisone shots but I need them every month and they won't give them that often. The pain when I sit and then try to stand is unbearable.
I have had RFA done on my lumbar spine and my neck. I wish it were a permanent fix but the pain does come back because your nerves grow back.
I was diagnosed with Bertolotti Syndrome in April 2022 after a sciatica attack that prompted an MRI. I was told that it's congenital and about 4% of the population is diagnosed with it. Just wondering if anyone else is in that 4% with me.
Both sides move for me, but the spinal curve puts extra pressure on that left side and makes it super painful. Steroid shots help, but I have a wicked case of sacroilitis to go with it. A good… read more
My pain doc wants me to try a nerve block on my back. I'm willing to try anything at this point. If you've had it done, is it painful? Does it hurt? I have DDD, stenosis, and L-4 and L-5 are herniated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more

Unfortunately epidurals only give me a day of relief from the novocaine in the injection. My insurance denies oblations. I’m sorry for all your pain.
My husband told me that Pres. Trump said he’d like to do away with half of all pain meds use! I’ve been on pain meds off and on from 21 to mid 30’s since I had received approx. 20+ surgeries in that time. Then 20 years ago ruptured L-4 and L-5, L-5 S-1. Pain was unbearable . I’ve been on them straight since then , Oct 21st at 1:10 pm ,1997. You don’t forget the date that changed your life. I’ve been treated like a drug seeker all my life on meds. Once and awhile you’ll find a dr who knows pain… read more
