I'd love to hear about your experiences and journey with this medication. How's it going for you?

My doctor quoted some CDC report that was intended as a guideline for general practitioners that said no chronic pain patient should be prescribed more then 90mmg of morphine equalivent for chronic pain patients irregardless of pain levels or time on opioids. The DEA jumped all over this reccomdation and is using it to force pain doctors to drasticly cut medications, leaving millions of us in dire pain without help or hope.

My husband told me that Pres. Trump said he’d like to do away with half of all pain meds use! I’ve been on pain meds off and on from 21 to mid 30’s since I had received approx. 20+ surgeries in that time. Then 20 years ago ruptured L-4 and L-5, L-5 S-1. Pain was unbearable . At one point I was on 12 T3’s a day for the lower back pain from the collapsing discs; especially S1-L5. The next step was to go on Opiods (hope I spelled it right) anyway. I decided to go for a breast reduction and pain management instead. Anyone else?

Did anyone else have to sign a contract with their Dr.? I had to sign a promise that I would not accept any controlled substance from any other Dr. Or his service will be terminated.

When I was taken to the ER with a fractured clavicle I had no idea what they were giving me in the IV. I FOUND OUT LATER.

I’ve been to neuros, chiros, phys therapy, acupuncturist, massage, I am looking into and considering going to a pain management clinic for chronic neck and shoulder pain. Can anyone tell me if they’ve had helpful or unhelpful experiences with pain management?

My pain management doctor doesn't seem to want to listen to me. I am on 30mg extended release morphine twice a day and 4mg instant release dilaudid twice a day. The dilaudid works well just doesn't last long,maybe 3 hours. The morphine doesn't seem to work well. She has had me on a couple extended release meds and they haven't really worked.
