Weight Gain From Neurontin( Gabapentin )
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have any of you experienced weight gain from neurontin? I have been on it for 1 1/2 years now and as they raised the dose I noticed I started going weight. I now take 800mgs a day. Since April I have gone from 140 lbs to 180. I am not happy at this weight but the drug does help a lot..though I still have the neuropathy all over my body, including my face. I am not eating more. The dr would like to raise it more but I don't want to be obese along with my other problems
I think the fact that I… read more

Has Anyone Hac A Nerve Block Done For Back Pain?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My pain doc wants me to try a nerve block on my back. I'm willing to try anything at this point. If you've had it done, is it painful? Does it hurt? I have DDD, stenosis, and L-4 and L-5 are herniated. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more

Why Are We Being Treaing Like We Are Bad People Because We Are In Pain
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know that they are bad people out there, but we are not one of them, and yet we get treated like we are bad, because we are in pain and what helps us is being decided by people who do not feel what we do

Is There Any Way To Fix This Problem?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

What can we do?? I can't afford to doctor shop, copays are too expensive, especially with my only income being SS. Not to mention I take insulin that costs (Phone number can only be seen by MyChronicPainTeam users) COPAY!! Spondylosis is killing me. My only option is gabapentin and muscle relaxers and Meloxicam. Have good and bad days, bad days would love tramadol to keep me functional. Can't find a Dr that thinks I'm not a drug addict. For effin tramadol!! The other choice which doesn't work is… read more

Forgetfullness
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Who else, besides me, forgets sometimes all your symptoms or issues when you go to the ER or a specialist and need to write them down in a pocket book to refer to? What other things do you do to remember?

Inversion Table
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m wondering if anyone has tried the use of an inversion table for back pain. I’m looking into buying one.

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

I tried a friends for 20 min and the pain was worse the rest of the day after I got off. She only put it at 15% too.

Contracts
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Did anyone else have to sign a contract with their Dr.? I had to sign a promise that I would not accept any controlled substance from any other Dr. Or his service will be terminated.

When I was taken to the ER with a fractured clavicle I had no idea what they were giving me in the IV. I FOUND OUT LATER.

I found out from my family Dr. That CBD drops will affect your urine test and will show up. BE FOREWARNED.

Has Anyone Been Wrongly Deemed Drug-dependent By A Doctor?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has been misidentified as a drug addict due to their pain condition. I would also be grateful to hear how this has affected your illness and quality of life? Please find my story below;

I suffer from a painful bladder condition, interstitial cystitis. In early February I stayed overnight at my partner's house. He was not working the following day and we had a rare opportunity to spend it together. I had undergone a DSMO treatment for my interstitial… read more

Has Anyone Else Tried Nucynta?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been through the wringer with pain meds, clinics, injections
Y'all know. I know you've all been through it too
I'm allergic to most anti inflamitories so pain meds have to be strong. I can't get a doctor in the entire city to keep me comfortable until my therapist gave me Tramadol a year ago. Upping the doses was fine but taking so many pills a day was ridiculous!
I spoke at length to my fantastic pharmacist that said I either need Percocet (which metabolizes too fast for my body and… read more
