How do you do breathing techniques to help with pain when the very act of deep breathing makes the pain worse?
Edit: I think deep breathing is the wrong word. Mainly because even normal breathing is painful. I Know that in my Eleigh breathing through the pain helps but now I can't do that because it makes the pain increase

There is a whole art devoted to that called 'mindfulness.' It helps with a bunch of things. I have a book called "Full Catastrophe Living" which described it in detail.

Does Anyone Use Meditation To Help Relieve Their Pain ? And If So Has Anyone Met One Of Their Guides ?

I have small activitys for three days of the week now i am surching for some activity how fits for two other days. Because i road a lot on this site that we chronic peolpe have a more furfilling week / life because of fitting hobby s and activitys who destract us from the pain .

As a side sleeper, my shoulders and hips are usually sore in the morning, even though I switch sides during the night. Sometimes, when both sides are sore, I have no choice but to sleep on my back, which is when I must elevate the pillows or I stop breathing momentarily.

Hi I’ve a cpap machine I have sleep apnea we at times stop breathing in my sleep so this machine is a god send definitely saving my life 🤗🤗

Update: it's been almost 3 weeks since I started taking the meds and I am impressed. I have been able to do my house work and run errands. My pain level has dropped from an 8/9 to a 4/5. I had no clue if anything could ever make me feel better.
The pain still sneaks up on me but I have to say it's manageable.

Recently started seeing a Pain Psychologist!! After decades of PAIN, Stanford University offered me a Pain Psychologist. I thought how ridiculous but travel the 600 miles round trip for my 45 minute appointment which has changed my world of Pain. It doesn’t take away the pain. It doesn’t minimize the pain.
