I always appreciate all the advice I get from people who just have no idea. I knows these people and I know they could not travel ONE MILE in my shoes. Asshats.

If you are taking pain meds then you are, whether you realize it or not. It seems that chronic pain and all of the frustration, aggravation, anger, abandonment, limitations, and the inability to continue with most everything you could do before coincides with emotional problems. It causes people to lose their temper quickly. It makes it very hard to tolerate things which would have been nothing before.
So, it effects every aspect of you and your life.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member, are you a doctor?

When pain meds are taken correctly, they are most helpful and do not mess with one's emotional health and well being. In fact, the opposite is true.

I will take my pain meds and not cry, because I'm miserable and can live than not take them and be unable to function.

Constantly but i’m trying to find joy in the little things in life and not let the chronic pain define my life but it often still does but i’m doing my best and that’s all i need to do! Trying to be less irritable and quick to react having post concussive symptoms makes that hard along with the nerve damage in my face. One thing i know for sure is i’m grateful for all the support i have in my life from my animals, family, boyfriend, friends and the inner strength i have found!!

You hit the nail on the head. I experience everything you said. Not only do I deal with the pain, but I also am an amputee. I deal with adult people starring daily. I would much rather people asked, than to stare at me. I understand children starring, but it is ridiculous when adults do. I have tried to just smile at them, to let them know I see them starring, then they will look away. Emotional pain sux big blue 🐒 balls.
